For nasal dosage form (Astelin® spray): For treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis: Adults and children 12 years of age and older—1 or 2 sprays in each nostril 2 times a day, or 2 sprays in each nostril once a day
Azelastine hydrochloride occurs as a white, almost odorless, crystalline powder with a bitter taste
Tell your doctor if you have serious side effects of Optivar including: severe burning, stinging, itching, or eye redness after using this medication; eye pain; trouble breathing; fever, chills, sore throat, or flu symptoms
Histamine can produce symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose
